They are also available with radial internal clearance less or greater than normal. Double row deep groove ball bearings are manufactured to normal tolerances only and are supplied as standard with normal radial internal clearance. Also, snap rings are sometimes used on the periphery. Snap rings fitted to deep groove ball bearings with snap ring groove provide a simple and space saving means of axially locating the bearing in the housing. Pressed steel cages are the most common type.
